RESURRECTION IS NOT A CONSPIRACY

Baca: MATTHEW 28:1-15

Bacaan tahunan: 2 Samuel 1-3

Believing that someone who has died comes back to life is certainly not easy. It goes against the laws of nature. It cannot be explained by human reason or logic. Naturally, when someone experiences death, the process of decay immediately begins. That's why many people do not believe in the resurrection of Jesus after He was buried. They then concoct or speculate reasons that seem plausible.

Eyewitnesses noted that Jesus' tomb was sealed and guarded by Roman soldiers. The idea was proposed by Jewish leaders to Pilate, the governor, to anticipate the theft of Jesus' body and then the disciples claiming that He had risen (Matthew 27:62-66). However, the resurrection of Christ is not a natural event. It is not a human act. But by the power of God, the Creator of life. The resurrection of Christ was marked by a great earthquake and angels rolling away the tombstone. The guards saw it with great fear. However, bribery with a sum of money made them follow the scenario of lies and evil conspiracy.

Until now, many people doubt the resurrection of Christ even though there is abundant supporting evidence. Conversely, for His followers, there is no doubt about it. They have had a real encounter with Him, in various ways and events for 40 days (Acts 1:3). They boldly testify about Christ. They also live a righteous life according to the teachings of Christ. Today, we who have had an encounter with Christ should also live a life that will lead more people to believe in Him. --HT/www.renunganharian.net
