Who says discipline memorize the verse just for kid Sunday school? The Lord Jesus himself saves a lot of Bible verses in his memory. This custom may very well have nurtured since childhood. The Gospel of Luke records that at the age of twelve years with Jesus for bersoal with the accomplished alim scholars!
Rather than simply memorizing mechanically, the word of the father for Jesus is the source of life and the weapons of war. Deal with the devil, Jesus rebuked it could just be "I'm not a human being, you can't possibly win, Blis!" Or, he could have challenged the devil on ' supernatural powers ' as the Prophet Elijah challenged the prophets of Baal (1 Kings 18: 20-40). However, the written word of God is enough for Jesus against the evil (v. 4, 7, 10). Many times we will find in the Gospels cite Jesus as the word of God teaching, for example in Matthew 12: 3, 5; 19: 4; 22: 31. even though Jesus is God, the author of the Bible, then he was quoting the words of Scripture that it instead of her as a human being.
Indeed many verses of the Bible memorised does not guarantee a person's life is similar to Christ, but too little intake of the Word will also not produce her likeness. Already granted every follower of Christ, trying to live more and more similar to him, including the increasingly rely on "every word that proceeds from the mouth of God". Pastor John Piper taking time 5-10 minutes each day to memorize Bible verses. His congregation to make rote the Bible program together each week throughout the year. What practical things you can do to increase your intake of the word of God in your memory? -ELS
