LUPE

After that He got up from his prayer and went back to his students, but he found them sleeping for sorrow. He said to them, "why are you sleeping? Be watchful and pray, that ye do not fall into temptation. " (Luke 22: 45-46)

Lupe. Yes, you're not wrong reading. This title was deliberately chosen in order not easily forgotten. Lupe (read: loo '-pay) is the language of Greece to grief, feelings, gundah, full of suffering and sadness because of the hard times facing the inevitable. What do you usually do when experiencing it? Nothing like traveling or gather with friends to forget about problems. Some others may like me, sleep! The expectation, with sleep, we no longer lupe or no longer suffer.
The disciples also noted sleep because of grief. Maybe they initially pray like Jesus ' advice, but as tired physically and the mind, nor dormant desire. It could also be they indeed choose to sleep because no longer willing to pray. If the trouble cannot be avoided, what's the point of praying? Jesus rebuked them. Pray it's vital that they do not fall into temptation (paragraph 46). More difficult situation, we need to connect with the father. Jesus himself in human body trembling and want to avoid suffering. Therefore, he prayed, begged in the dark, he could at most berespons according to the will of the father (v. 42). With the power of the father, Jesus face cross. His disciples? Run and denied Jesus.
The devil knows that when we connect with the father, we will have the strength to remain devout do truth, weighing the risks of anything. Therefore, he will hold us back by all means to pray. Ahead of the coming of Christ returns, he will be even more vigorous tempt children of God. Let's live with the vigil and pray. Jesus promised, we will have the strength that we need (Luke 21: 36). -ELS
