Rom 3:1 Jika demikian, apakah kelebihan orang Yahudi dan apakah gunanya sunat?
Rom 3:2 Banyak sekali, dan di dalam segala hal. Pertama-tama: sebab kepada merekalah dipercayakan firman Allah.
Rom 3:3 Jadi bagaimana, jika di antara mereka ada yang tidak setia, dapatkah ketidaksetiaan itu membatalkan kesetiaan Allah?
Rom 3:4 Sekali-kali tidak! Sebaliknya: Allah adalah benar, dan semua manusia pembohong, seperti ada tertulis: "Supaya Engkau ternyata benar dalam segala firman-Mu, dan menang, jika Engkau dihakimi."
Rom 3:5 Tetapi jika ketidakbenaran kita menunjukkan kebenaran Allah, apakah yang akan kita katakan? Tidak adilkah Allah--aku berkata sebagai manusia--jika Ia menampakkan murka-Nya?
Rom 3:6 Sekali-kali tidak! Andaikata demikian, bagaimanakah Allah dapat menghakimi dunia?
Rom 3:7 Tetapi jika kebenaran Allah oleh dustaku semakin melimpah bagi kemuliaan-Nya, mengapa aku masih dihakimi lagi sebagai orang berdosa?
Rom 3:8 Bukankah tidak benar fitnahan orang yang mengatakan, bahwa kita berkata: "Marilah kita berbuat yang jahat, supaya yang baik timbul dari padanya." Orang semacam itu sudah selayaknya mendapat hukuman.
Semua manusia adalah orang berdosa
Rom 3:9 Jadi bagaimana? Adakah kita mempunyai kelebihan dari pada orang lain? Sama sekali tidak. Sebab di atas telah kita tuduh baik orang Yahudi, maupun orang Yunani, bahwa mereka semua ada di bawah kuasa dosa,
Rom 3:10 seperti ada tertulis: "Tidak ada yang benar, seorangpun tidak.
Rom 3:11 Tidak ada seorangpun yang berakal budi, tidak ada seorangpun yang mencari Allah.
Rom 3:12 Semua orang telah menyeleweng, mereka semua tidak berguna, tidak ada yang berbuat baik, seorangpun tidak.
Rom 3:13 Kerongkongan mereka seperti kubur yang ternganga, lidah mereka merayu-rayu, bibir mereka mengandung bisa.
Rom 3:14 Mulut mereka penuh dengan sumpah serapah,
Rom 3:15 kaki mereka cepat untuk menumpahkan darah.
Rom 3:16 Keruntuhan dan kebinasaan mereka tinggalkan di jalan mereka,
Rom 3:17 dan jalan damai tidak mereka kenal;
Rom 3:18 rasa takut kepada Allah tidak ada pada orang itu."
Rom 3:19 Tetapi kita tahu, bahwa segala sesuatu yang tercantum dalam Kitab Taurat ditujukan kepada mereka yang hidup di bawah hukum Taurat, supaya tersumbat setiap mulut dan seluruh dunia jatuh ke bawah hukuman Allah.
Rom 3:20 Sebab tidak seorangpun yang dapat dibenarkan di hadapan Allah oleh karena melakukan hukum Taurat, karena justru oleh hukum Taurat orang mengenal dosa.
Manusia dibenarkan karena iman
Rom 3:21 Tetapi sekarang, tanpa hukum Taurat kebenaran Allah telah dinyatakan, seperti yang disaksikan dalam Kitab Taurat dan Kitab-kitab para nabi,
Rom 3:22 yaitu kebenaran Allah karena iman dalam Yesus Kristus bagi semua orang yang percaya. Sebab tidak ada perbedaan.
Rom 3:23 Karena semua orang telah berbuat dosa dan telah kehilangan kemuliaan Allah,
Rom 3:24 dan oleh kasih karunia telah dibenarkan dengan cuma-cuma karena penebusan dalam Kristus Yesus.
Rom 3:25 Kristus Yesus telah ditentukan Allah menjadi jalan pendamaian karena iman, dalam darah-Nya. Hal ini dibuat-Nya untuk menunjukkan keadilan-Nya, karena Ia telah membiarkan dosa-dosa yang telah terjadi dahulu pada masa kesabaran-Nya.
Rom 3:26 Maksud-Nya ialah untuk menunjukkan keadilan-Nya pada masa ini, supaya nyata, bahwa Ia benar dan juga membenarkan orang yang percaya kepada Yesus.
Rom 3:27 Jika demikian, apakah dasarnya untuk bermegah? Tidak ada! Berdasarkan apa? Berdasarkan perbuatan? Tidak, melainkan berdasarkan iman!
Rom 3:28 Karena kami yakin, bahwa manusia dibenarkan karena iman, dan bukan karena ia melakukan hukum Taurat.
Rom 3:29 Atau adakah Allah hanya Allah orang Yahudi saja? Bukankah Ia juga adalah Allah bangsa-bangsa lain? Ya, benar. Ia juga adalah Allah bangsa-bangsa lain!
Rom 3:30 Artinya, kalau ada satu Allah, yang akan membenarkan baik orang-orang bersunat karena iman, maupun orang-orang tak bersunat juga karena iman.
Rom 3:31 Jika demikian, adakah kami membatalkan hukum Taurat karena iman? Sama sekali tidak! Sebaliknya, kami meneguhkannya.
Rome 3:1 What advantage then hath the Jew? or what profit is there of circumcision?
Rome 3:2 Much every way: chiefly, because that unto them were committed the oracles of God.
Rome 3:3 For what if some did not believe? shall their unbelief make the faith of God without effect?
Rome 3:4 God forbid: yea, let God be true, but every man a liar; as it is written, That thou mightest be justified in thy sayings, and mightest overcome when thou art judged.
Rome 3:5 But if our unrighteousness commend the righteousness of God, what shall we say? Is God unrighteous who taketh vengeance? (I speak as a man)
Rome 3:6 God forbid: for then how shall God judge the world?
Rome 3:7 For if the truth of God hath more abounded through my lie unto his glory; why yet am I also judged as a sinner?
Rome 3:8 And not rather, (as we be slanderously reported, and as some affirm that we say,) Let us do evil, that good may come? whose damnation is just.
Rome 3:9 What then? are we better than they? No, in no wise: for we have before proved both Jews and Gentiles, that they are all under sin;
Rome 3:10 As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:
Rome 3:11 There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God.
Rome 3:12 They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one.
Rome 3:13 Their throat is an open sepulchre; with their tongues they have used deceit; the poison of asps is under their lips:
Rome 3:14 Whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness:
Rome 3:15 Their feet are swift to shed blood:
Rome 3:16 Destruction and misery are in their ways:
Rome 3:17 And the way of peace have they not known:
Rome 3:18 There is no fear of God before their eyes.
Rome 3:19 Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God.
Rome 3:20 Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.
Rome 3:21 But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets;
Rome 3:22 Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference:
Rome 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
Rome 3:24 Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:
Rome 3:25 Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;
Rome 3:26 To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.
Rome 3:27 Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? of works? Nay: but by the law of faith.
Rome 3:28 Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law.
Rome 3:29 Is he the God of the Jews only? is he not also of the Gentiles? Yes, of the Gentiles also:
Rome 3:30 Seeing it is one God, which shall justify the circumcision by faith, and uncircumcision through faith.
Rome 3:31 Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law.
