2tawarikh 19:1 Yosafat, raja Yehuda, pulang dengan selamat ke istananya di Yerusalem.
2tawarikh 19:2 Ketika itu Yehu bin Hanani, pelihat itu, pergi menemuinya dan berkata kepada raja Yosafat: "Sewajarnyakah engkau menolong orang fasik dan bersahabat dengan mereka yang membenci TUHAN? Karena hal itu TUHAN murka terhadap engkau.
2tawarikh 19:3 Namun masih terdapat hal-hal yang baik padamu, karena engkau menghapuskan tiang-tiang berhala dari negeri ini dan mencari Allah dengan tekun."
Yosafat mengangkat hakim-hakim
2tawarikh 19:4 Yosafat diam di Yerusalem. Ia mengadakan kunjungan pula ke daerah-daerah, dari Bersyeba sampai ke pegunungan Efraim, sambil menyuruh rakyat berbalik kepada TUHAN, Allah nenek moyang mereka.
2tawarikh 19:5 Ia mengangkat juga hakim-hakim di seluruh negeri, yakni di semua kota yang berkubu di Yehuda, di tiap-tiap kota.
2tawarikh 19:6 Berpesanlah ia kepada hakim-hakim itu: "Pertimbangkanlah apa yang kamu buat, karena bukanlah untuk manusia kamu memutuskan hukum, melainkan untuk TUHAN, yang ada beserta kamu, bila kamu memutuskan hukum.
2tawarikh 19:7 Sebab itu, kiranya kamu diliputi oleh rasa takut kepada TUHAN. Bertindaklah dengan seksama, karena berlaku curang, memihak ataupun menerima suap tidak ada pada TUHAN, Allah kita."
2tawarikh 19:8 Juga di Yerusalem Yosafat mengangkat beberapa orang dari antara orang Lewi, dari antara para imam dan dari antara para kepala puak Israel untuk memberi keputusan dalam hal hukum TUHAN dan dalam hal perselisihan. Mereka berkedudukan di Yerusalem.
2tawarikh 19:9 Ia memerintahkan mereka: "Kamu harus bertindak dengan takut akan TUHAN, dengan setia dan dengan tulus hati, demikian:
2tawarikh 19:10 Dalam setiap perkara, yang disampaikan kepada kamu oleh rekan-rekanmu yang tinggal di kota-kota, yakni perkara-perkara mengenai penumpahan darah atau mengenai hukum, perintah, ketetapan-ketetapan dan peraturan-peraturan hendaklah kamu memperingatkan mereka, supaya mereka jangan bersalah terhadap TUHAN, sehingga murka-Nya menimpa kamu dan rekan-rekanmu. Hendaklah kamu berbuat demikian, dan kamu tidak akan bersalah.
2tawarikh 19:11 Dengan ini imam kepala Amarya diangkat sebagai ketuamu dalam segala perkara ketuhanan dan Zebaja bin Ismael, pemuka kaum Yehuda, dalam segala perkara kerajaan, sedang orang Lewi akan melayani kamu sebagai pengatur. Bertindaklah dengan tegas! Kiranya TUHAN menyertai orang yang tulus ikhlas."
2chron 19:1 And Jehoshaphat the king of Judah returned to his house in peace to Jerusalem.
2chron 19:2 And Jehu the son of Hanani the seer went out to meet him, and said to king Jehoshaphat, Shouldest thou help the ungodly, and love them that hate the LORD? therefore is wrath upon thee from before the LORD.
2chron 19:3 Nevertheless there are good things found in thee, in that thou hast taken away the groves out of the land, and hast prepared thine heart to seek God.
2chron 19:4 And Jehoshaphat dwelt at Jerusalem: and he went out again through the people from Beersheba to mount Ephraim, and brought them back unto the LORD God of their fathers.
2chron 19:5 And he set judges in the land throughout all the fenced cities of Judah, city by city,
2chron 19:6 And said to the judges, Take heed what ye do: for ye judge not for man, but for the LORD, who is with you in the judgment.
2chron 19:7 Wherefore now let the fear of the LORD be upon you; take heed and do it: for there is no iniquity with the LORD our God, nor respect of persons, nor taking of gifts.
2chron 19:8 Moreover in Jerusalem did Jehoshaphat set of the Levites, and of the priests, and of the chief of the fathers of Israel, for the judgment of the LORD, and for controversies, when they returned to Jerusalem.
2chron 19:9 And he charged them, saying, Thus shall ye do in the fear of the LORD, faithfully, and with a perfect heart.
2chron 19:10 And what cause soever shall come to you of your brethren that dwell in your cities, between blood and blood, between law and commandment, statutes and judgments, ye shall even warn them that they trespass not against the LORD, and so wrath come upon you, and upon your brethren: this do, and ye shall not trespass.
2chron 19:11 And, behold, Amariah the chief priest is over you in all matters of the LORD; and Zebadiah the son of Ishmael, the ruler of the house of Judah, for all the king's matters: also the Levites shall be officers before you. Deal courageously, and the LORD shall be with the good.
