2raja-raja 2:1 Menjelang saatnya TUHAN hendak menaikkan Elia ke sorga dalam angin badai, Elia dan Elisa sedang berjalan dari Gilgal.
2raja-raja 2:2 Berkatalah Elia kepada Elisa: "Baiklah tinggal di sini, sebab TUHAN menyuruh aku ke Betel." Tetapi Elisa menjawab: "Demi TUHAN yang hidup dan demi hidupmu sendiri, sesungguhnya aku tidak akan meninggalkan engkau." Lalu pergilah mereka ke Betel.
2raja-raja 2:3 Pada waktu itu keluarlah rombongan nabi yang ada di Betel mendapatkan Elisa, lalu berkatalah mereka kepadanya: "Sudahkah engkau tahu, bahwa pada hari ini tuanmu akan diambil dari padamu oleh TUHAN terangkat ke sorga?" Jawabnya: "Aku juga tahu, diamlah!"
2raja-raja 2:4 Berkatalah Elia kepadanya: "Hai Elisa, baiklah tinggal di sini, sebab TUHAN menyuruh aku ke Yerikho." Tetapi jawabnya: "Demi TUHAN yang hidup dan demi hidupmu sendiri, sesungguhnya aku tidak akan meninggalkan engkau." Lalu sampailah mereka di Yerikho.
2raja-raja 2:5 Pada waktu itu mendekatlah rombongan nabi yang ada di Yerikho kepada Elisa serta berkata kepadanya: "Sudahkah engkau tahu, bahwa pada hari ini tuanmu akan diambil dari padamu oleh TUHAN terangkat ke sorga?" Jawabnya: "Aku juga tahu, diamlah!"
2raja-raja 2:6 Berkatalah Elia kepadanya: "Baiklah tinggal di sini, sebab TUHAN menyuruh aku ke sungai Yordan." Jawabnya: "Demi TUHAN yang hidup dan demi hidupmu sendiri, sesungguhnya aku tidak akan meninggalkan engkau." Lalu berjalanlah keduanya.
2raja-raja 2:7 Lima puluh orang dari rombongan nabi itu ikut berjalan, tetapi mereka berdiri memandang dari jauh, ketika keduanya berdiri di tepi sungai Yordan.
2raja-raja 2:8 Lalu Elia mengambil jubahnya, digulungnya, dipukulkannya ke atas air itu, maka terbagilah air itu ke sebelah sini dan ke sebelah sana, sehingga menyeberanglah keduanya dengan berjalan di tanah yang kering.
2raja-raja 2:9 Dan sesudah mereka sampai di seberang, berkatalah Elia kepada Elisa: "Mintalah apa yang hendak kulakukan kepadamu, sebelum aku terangkat dari padamu." Jawab Elisa: "Biarlah kiranya aku mendapat dua bagian dari rohmu."
2raja-raja 2:10 Berkatalah Elia: "Yang kauminta itu adalah sukar. Tetapi jika engkau dapat melihat aku terangkat dari padamu, akan terjadilah kepadamu seperti yang demikian, dan jika tidak, tidak akan terjadi."
2raja-raja 2:11 Sedang mereka berjalan terus sambil berkata-kata, tiba-tiba datanglah kereta berapi dengan kuda berapi memisahkan keduanya, lalu naiklah Elia ke sorga dalam angin badai.
2raja-raja 2:12 Ketika Elisa melihat itu, maka berteriaklah ia: "Bapaku, bapaku! Kereta Israel dan orang-orangnya yang berkuda!" Kemudian tidak dilihatnya lagi, lalu direnggutkannya pakaiannya dan dikoyakkannya menjadi dua koyakan.
2raja-raja 2:13 Sesudah itu dipungutnya jubah Elia yang telah terjatuh, lalu ia berjalan hendak pulang dan berdiri di tepi sungai Yordan.
2raja-raja 2:14 Ia mengambil jubah Elia yang telah terjatuh itu, dipukulkannya ke atas air itu sambil berseru: "Di manakah TUHAN, Allah Elia?" Ia memukul air itu, lalu terbagi ke sebelah sini dan ke sebelah sana, maka menyeberanglah Elisa.
2raja-raja 2:15 Ketika rombongan nabi yang dari Yerikho itu melihat dia dari jauh, mereka berkata: "Roh Elia telah hinggap pada Elisa." Mereka datang menemui dia, lalu sujudlah mereka kepadanya sampai ke tanah.
2raja-raja 2:16 Mereka berkata: "Coba lihat! Di antara hamba-hambamu ini ada lima puluh orang laki-laki, orang-orang tangkas. Biarlah mereka itu pergi mencari tuanmu, jangan-jangan ia diangkat oleh Roh TUHAN dan dilemparkan-Nya ke atas salah satu gunung atau ke dalam salah satu lembah." Elisa menjawab: "Janganlah suruh pergi!"
2raja-raja 2:17 Tetapi ketika mereka mendesak-desak dia sampai memalukan, maka berkatalah ia: "Suruhlah pergi!" Mereka menyuruh lima puluh orang. Orang-orang ini mencari tiga hari lamanya, tetapi tidak bertemu dengan Elia.
2raja-raja 2:18 Ketika mereka kembali kepada Elisa yang masih tinggal di kota Yerikho, berkatalah ia kepada mereka: "Bukankah telah kukatakan kepadamu: Jangan pergi?"
Elisa menyehatkan air di Yerikho
2raja-raja 2:19 Berkatalah penduduk kota itu kepada Elisa: "Cobalah lihat! Letaknya kota ini baik, seperti tuanku lihat, tetapi airnya tidak baik dan di negeri ini sering ada keguguran bayi."
2raja-raja 2:20 Jawabnya: "Ambillah sebuah pinggan baru bagiku dan taruhlah garam ke dalamnya." Maka mereka membawa pinggan itu kepadanya.
2raja-raja 2:21 Kemudian pergilah ia ke mata air mereka dan melemparkan garam itu ke dalamnya serta berkata: "Beginilah firman TUHAN: Telah Kusehatkan air ini, maka tidak akan terjadi lagi olehnya kematian atau keguguran bayi."
2raja-raja 2:22 Demikianlah air itu menjadi sehat sampai hari ini sesuai dengan firman yang telah disampaikan Elisa.
Anak-anak Betel mencemoohkan Elisa
2raja-raja 2:23 Elisa pergi dari sana ke Betel. Dan sedang ia mendaki, maka keluarlah anak-anak dari kota itu, lalu mencemoohkan dia serta berseru kepadanya: "Naiklah botak, naiklah botak!"
2raja-raja 2:24 Lalu berpalinglah ia ke belakang, dan ketika ia melihat mereka, dikutuknyalah mereka demi nama TUHAN. Maka keluarlah dua ekor beruang dari hutan, lalu mencabik-cabik dari mereka empat puluh dua orang anak.
2raja-raja 2:25 Dari sana pergilah ia ke gunung Karmel dan dari sana pula kembalilah ia ke Samaria.
2kings 2:1 And it came to pass, when the LORD would take up Elijah into heaven by a whirlwind, that Elijah went with Elisha from Gilgal.
2kings 2:2 And Elijah said unto Elisha, Tarry here, I pray thee; for the LORD hath sent me to Bethel. And Elisha said unto him, As the LORD liveth, and as thy soul liveth, I will not leave thee. So they went down to Bethel.
2kings 2:3 And the sons of the prophets that were at Bethel came forth to Elisha, and said unto him, Knowest thou that the LORD will take away thy master from thy head to day? And he said, Yea, I know it; hold ye your peace.
2kings 2:4 And Elijah said unto him, Elisha, tarry here, I pray thee; for the LORD hath sent me to Jericho. And he said, As the LORD liveth, and as thy soul liveth, I will not leave thee. So they came to Jericho.
2kings 2:5 And the sons of the prophets that were at Jericho came to Elisha, and said unto him, Knowest thou that the LORD will take away thy master from thy head to day? And he answered, Yea, I know it; hold ye your peace.
2kings 2:6 And Elijah said unto him, Tarry, I pray thee, here; for the LORD hath sent me to Jordan. And he said, As the LORD liveth, and as thy soul liveth, I will not leave thee. And they two went on.
2kings 2:7 And fifty men of the sons of the prophets went, and stood to view afar off: and they two stood by Jordan.
2kings 2:8 And Elijah took his mantle, and wrapped it together, and smote the waters, and they were divided hither and thither, so that they two went over on dry ground.
2kings 2:9 And it came to pass, when they were gone over, that Elijah said unto Elisha, Ask what I shall do for thee, before I be taken away from thee. And Elisha said, I pray thee, let a double portion of thy spirit be upon me.
2kings 2:10 And he said, Thou hast asked a hard thing: nevertheless, if thou see me when I am taken from thee, it shall be so unto thee; but if not, it shall not be so.
2kings 2:11 And it came to pass, as they still went on, and talked, that, behold, there appeared a chariot of fire, and horses of fire, and parted them both asunder; and Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven.
2kings 2:12 And Elisha saw it, and he cried, My father, my father, the chariot of Israel, and the horsemen thereof. And he saw him no more: and he took hold of his own clothes, and rent them in two pieces.
2kings 2:13 He took up also the mantle of Elijah that fell from him, and went back, and stood by the bank of Jordan;
2kings 2:14 And he took the mantle of Elijah that fell from him, and smote the waters, and said, Where is the LORD God of Elijah? and when he also had smitten the waters, they parted hither and thither: and Elisha went over.
2kings 2:15 And when the sons of the prophets which were to view at Jericho saw him, they said, The spirit of Elijah doth rest on Elisha. And they came to meet him, and bowed themselves to the ground before him.
2kings 2:16 And they said unto him, Behold now, there be with thy servants fifty strong men; let them go, we pray thee, and seek thy master: lest peradventure the Spirit of the LORD hath taken him up, and cast him upon some mountain, or into some valley. And he said, Ye shall not send.
2kings 2:17 And when they urged him till he was ashamed, he said, Send. They sent therefore fifty men; and they sought three days, but found him not.
2kings 2:18 And when they came again to him, (for he tarried at Jericho,) he said unto them, Did I not say unto you, Go not?
2kings 2:19 And the men of the city said unto Elisha, Behold, I pray thee, the situation of this city is pleasant, as my lord seeth: but the water is naught, and the ground barren.
2kings 2:20 And he said, Bring me a new cruse, and put salt therein. And they brought it to him.
2kings 2:21 And he went forth unto the spring of the waters, and cast the salt in there, and said, Thus saith the LORD, I have healed these waters; there shall not be from thence any more death or barren land.
2kings 2:22 So the waters were healed unto this day, according to the saying of Elisha which he spake.
2kings 2:23 And he went up from thence unto Bethel: and as he was going up by the way, there came forth little children out of the city, and mocked him, and said unto him, Go up, thou bald head; go up, thou bald head.
2kings 2:24 And he turned back, and looked on them, and cursed them in the name of the LORD. And there came forth two she bears out of the wood, and tare forty and two children of them.
2kings 2:25 And he went from thence to mount Carmel, and from thence he returned to Samaria.
