Baca: PSALM 37:1-11
Bacaan tahunan: Luke 14-16
Anger, disappointment, heartache, mixed feelings were felt by Adi, a store owner, when he found out that his former trusted employee opened a store that was much more popular. The customers who used to shop at Adi's store partially moved to his former employee's store. All the knowledge learned by the employee from him was practiced with several innovations, so his business became more popular and could open a new branch. Adi was angry because he felt that God was unfair, feeling that his employee was stabbing him in the back.
Almost all businesses can be observed, imitated, and modified. So, there is no need to be angry and hot-tempered because the business that we have built with difficulty is imitated by many people and they may be more successful. Let us not commit evil by having evil thoughts towards someone, or even doing evil to someone whom we consider a competitor who harms our business. Instead, we should be grateful because God uses us as a teacher for others and our business is profitable so that many people imitate it. Realize, it is God who arranges blessings for each person. So if God gives others greater blessings, there is no need to be angry, jealous, or feel that God is showing favoritism.
Fill our hearts and minds with always giving thanks to God for all the blessings He gives, including our businesses that are imitated by many people. We are great people so that others imitate our businesses. Let us be grateful and pray for the good of the competitors who imitate the business we are currently engaged in.
