The Book of 1 Timothy was written by Paul at the end of his life. Since his conversion, Paul had done so much service to establish the church in various areas. Paul has traveled so much danger and suffering for the gospel. Of all the experience, Paul declares that the greatest longing is to know God more. Thus, at the end of his life Paul did not become conceited, but even more aware of God's grace is so great to him. In fact, Paul says, that he was the chief of sinners. Why? Because the more people know Christ, he is getting to know who He is, increasingly understand the magnitude of the grace which he received, and more give themselves to the glory of God.
