MANIPULATION

Baca: Acts 5:1-11

Peter asked her, "Tell me, is this the price you and Ananias got for the land?" "Yes," she said, "that is the price." (Acts 5:8)

Bacaan tahunan: Acts 80-10

When we look at the deed of Ananias and Sapphira, how severe their mistakes so there's no second chance? Let's look at this so we do not repeat their actions: The atmosphere of the early church filled with joy because of God's work is so evident in the fellowship of believers. Some churches sell his property and even sell their land for the benefit of the group. Ananias and Sapphira as well. However, after selling it, they intentionally withhold the proceeds. Actually, Peter and the early church did not demand Ananias and Sapphira gave overall sales results. Unfortunately, Ananias and Sapphira claim to give you entirely, although they hold in part. That is why Peter said, "is this the price you and Ananias got for the land." (Verse 8).

They were punished not because they do not offer all the land, but because they deliberately manipulate the outcome of the sale of land and dishonest. Perhaps they expect admiration of the community of the early church, the congregation thought they gave so much. For Peter, this is a fraud against the Holy Spirit. The people and the Holy Spirit is not the same. However, the Holy Spirit attent to the attitude of people towards God's people.

How does our attitude toward the church? Do we often get caught up in the manipulation, which is profiting from the fellowship of the church? Or we sincerely serve and give yourself over there? God sees our hearts. Be a channel of blessing which pleases Him - DKL
