Baca: PSALM 34:16-20
Bacaan tahunan: 1 Samuel 13-14
Losing someone we love, facing bitter realities, or walking through the valleys of life often leaves our hearts shattered and our souls crushed. In times like these, words of comfort may feel tasteless and silence may seem louder than ever. However, in the midst of deep sorrow, the word of God shines as a gentle light-strengthening, comforting, and guiding.
Today's Psalm declares that the Lord is near. He is not a distant or indifferent God. Instead, in tears and silence, His love becomes even more evident. He is not only present, but He saves. Not just in a spiritual sense, but saves us from total destruction, from hopelessness, and from despair that could blind our faith. Jesus Himself wept at Lazarus' tomb (John 11:35). He not only understands our suffering, He has experienced it. He is the Great High Priest who empathizes with our weaknesses (Hebrews 4:15). Therefore, in times of grief, we can come to Him not only as God, but as a compassionate Friend.
Grief is indeed a part of life, but in Christ, no tear is in vain. He records every one of our cries (Psalm 56:8). Behind every pain, the Lord is working to form unseen strength. Let us surrender our grief to Him today. The wound may not be fully healed yet, but in His loving embrace, we can endure and be restored-little by little. --DSK/www.renunganharian.net
