Read: DANIEL 3
Bible in a year: 2 Chronicles 25-27
Second chances often appear as a grace. The first one has passed, but the second one is still given. It is thought that the second one should be taken immediately. It would be a great loss if it is missed again. Regret will deepen later on. Know that the devil also likes to give us a second chance! After we reject the temptation of a sin, he tempts us again with the same sin. Therefore, it is not necessary for us to say 'yes' to the second chance. If it is related to sin, keep saying 'no' like Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego.
The three exiled young men from Judah refused to worship the golden statue made by King Nebuchadnezzar. When various sounds were heard, they refused to bow down to the statue. The king's heart was extremely furious upon hearing the report from the Chaldeans about them. However, the king still showed 'mercy' by giving them a second chance (verse 15). The king did not want them to receive the predetermined punishment, which was to be thrown into the blazing furnace. Once again, various sounds were heard. Once again, they were asked to worship the statue. Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego remained steadfast (verses 16-18). The reason being, they understood that worshiping the statue was an act that hurt God's heart, or can be called a 'sin'.
Do not let yourself be deceived! If it is related to sin, a second chance is not a grace, but a follow-up offer from a disaster. The devil, who does not stop, presents sin to us again. Let's not take that second chance! Let's keep refusing, let's keep saying, 'No!' This decision does not make us a great loss, but rather very fortunate. Not regret, but overflowing joy from our hearts. --LIN/www.renunganharian.net
THE SECOND CHANCE THAT WE WILL NEVER TAKE IS THE CHANCE TO COMMIT A SIN.
