Read: MATTHEW 28:16-20
Bible in a year: 2 Chronicles 18-20
A car that was speeding suddenly stopped when someone waved their hand towards it. The driver asked, "What's wrong?" "Turn back, Sir," the person replied, "The road ahead is landslide. It's dangerous to pass through there." Before leaving, the driver repeatedly expressed his gratitude because the person had saved his life. Living life in this world is like taking a journey. Many people unconsciously walk towards destruction. It is very sad to see their souls float away one by one. Therefore, before ascending to heaven, Lord Jesus gave His Great Commission to His people. He sends us out. We are tasked to make disciples of all nations, that is, to bring those who do not believe to know Jesus and accept Jesus as the Lord and Savior. As a sign of belief, they are baptized in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit (v. 19). Furthermore, we teach them to obey the commandments of the Lord, in the sense of living in truth (v. 20). In short, Lord Jesus wants us to "wave our hands" to those who walk towards destruction so they can turn towards the path of life. "Waving hands" to someone will attract their attention. They may come and ask, "What's wrong?" However, they may also laugh and ignore us thinking that we are mentally ill. Similarly, when we talk about Jesus, they may accept it. However, they may also mock or scorn us. Faced with the possibility of the latter, are we still willing to "wave our hands"? Are we still willing to proclaim the Gospel? Hopefully, we answer, "Yes." Hopefully, we are willing to endure discomfort so that souls can be saved. --LIN/www.renunganharian.net
LORD JESUS DESIRES US TO MOVE AND PROCLAIM THE GOSPEL SO THAT PEOPLE CAN BE SAVED FROM FALLING INTO THE PIT OF DESTRUCTION.
