SUFFICIENT IS MY GRACE

Read: 2 CORINTHIANS 12:1-10

Bible in a year: 1 Kings 12-14

A young pastor was suddenly diagnosed with an autoimmune disease that made it difficult for him to move. He was frustrated. The ministry that was once a calling, now felt like a burden because of his physical limitations. In his difficult time, he stopped preaching and started writing devotions. He began writing not out of strength, but out of weakness that forced him to sit and be still before the Lord. Surprisingly, his writings began to touch many people, even wider than his previous ministry. In his gratitude, he prayed, "Lord, if this is how You show Your strength in my life, I am thankful for this weakness." Paul also tells about the "thorn in his flesh", a weakness or suffering that he asked God three times to take away from him. However, God did not grant his request. Instead, God gave an extraordinary answer, "My grace is sufficient for you." Paul learned to understand that God does not always remove weaknesses, but He always pours out His grace so that he can endure, even become a blessing. Often we feel not good enough and not capable enough to live out our calling in life. The world teaches us that we must always be tough. However, God works differently. He does not seek those who are strong by worldly standards, but those who lean on Him in weakness. In our weakest condition in life, God's grace works most vividly. Not when we stand tall, but when we fall and still believe. --SYS/www.renunganharian.net

OUR WEAKNESS IS NOT THE END OF EVERYTHING, IT IS THE BEGINNING OF LIMITLESS GRACE AT WORK.
