Read: MATTHEW 27:1-10
Bible in a year: 1 Samuel 21-24
Peter and Judas were among the twelve apostles. However, both of them betrayed Jesus. Peter denied Jesus three times. Three times he did not admit that he knew Jesus, even being His disciple (Matt. 26:69-75). Meanwhile, Judas sold Jesus to the chief priests. He received 30 pieces of silver and in return handed Jesus over to them (Matt. 26:14-16).
Then, both betrayers regretted their actions. After the denial incident, Peter wept with a heavy heart. Meanwhile, Judas declared that he had sinned by betraying the blood of an innocent person. He wanted to return the 30 pieces of silver to the buyers of Jesus (v. 3-4). In fact, both betrayers hurt the heart of the Lord! However, great is the Lord's love for humanity. The Lord forgave Peter. Peter was reinstated as an apostle. In fact, he became a pillar of the church, which means the main pillar of the twelve apostles (Gal. 2:9). Similar treatment should have been experienced by Judas. The Lord will surely forgive him. Unfortunately, he did not allow the Lord to do it. After the attempt to return the money was rejected, Judas became desperate. He threw the money into the temple, then went and hanged himself (v. 5).
The Lord will provide everything for us. Not only forgiveness, but also healing, restoration, and success. One condition is, we need to allow the Lord to do it. We need to invite Him to work, by coming to Him, surrendering our lives, and opening our hearts for the Lord to renew through prayer, confessing our sins, and repenting. --LIN/www.renunganharian.net
THERE IS NO GROWTH THAT WE EXPERIENCE IF WE DO NOT ALLOW THE LORD TO WORK IN OUR LIVES.
