Read: MARK 7:24-37
Bible in a year: 2 Thessalonians
I know a man named Edy, whose presence is always anticipated. Edy is not only good at lightening the mood with his humorous demeanor, but many people feel comfortable when they are near Edy. It's no wonder that when facing problems, many people come to Edy just to be heard and hope to receive advice from him. Edy is also skilled in playing music, with melodies that make his community friends drift away in the atmosphere, including when he accompanies praise and worship.
The presence of Jesus seems to be highly anticipated. Even when Jesus wanted to take a break from all the exhausting ministry activities, His presence cannot be hidden! Surely Jesus was not seeking popularity, but it cannot be denied that the presence of God accompanied Jesus wherever He went. It's no wonder that while serving in the world, many people want to come, see, and if possible, touch Jesus. The influence of Jesus is truly great, even when Jesus wants to hide, a Syrophoenician woman came to ask for healing for her possessed child (verse 26).
Our presence as followers of Christ is also expected to have an impact, like a candle flame that will be sought after or salt that is very much needed, even when in a "hidden" condition. Believe that His Spirit always accompanies us so that our lives can have a positive impact on those around us, even when we are alone!
