Read: TITUS 2:1-10
Bible in a year: John 3-4
In today's world full of selfishness and personal interests, being an example in doing good is not an easy matter. We live in a society that often prioritizes what they can gain rather than what they can give. However, as believers, we are called to be different - to be the light and salt of the world, and one way to do that is by being an example in every good deed.
The Letter to Titus was written by the Apostle Paul to Titus, a close fellow worker. Apostle Paul advised Titus to be a living example for his congregation. Indeed, as a leader, his life would be observed by many. Not only in teaching, but especially in daily behavior. The word "example" means something worthy of imitation or good to follow. The example Paul meant is not just a show, but a life testimony flowing from a personal relationship with Christ. This is important for Titus as a leader in setting an example. So doing good is not an optional task for Christians, but part of our identity as followers of Christ.
Acts of love, generosity, honesty, and loyalty are tangible forms of good deeds that can be a testimony to others. The world may not always read the Bible, but they read our lives. When we forgive when hurt, help selflessly, or serve humbly, we are introducing Christ through our lives.
