... they open the roof above Jesus: and when they lowered the mat, where the paralytic was lying (Mark 2:4)
Bible in a year: 2 Corinthians 11-13
Faith and effort to do something is like two sides of the coin, inseparable. Without any acts committed, it is doubtful that there is faith (James 2:14-18). Are not our actions is the appearance of what we believe?
A bunch of people who believe in Jesus saw how Jesus taught with power and miracles, and heal the sick (Mark 1:21-28). From there, their hearts were moved to help their compatriot friends who since childhood paralysis and left out of his life. They believe Jesus was able to heal so they do not say anything. Despite many obstacles: his house might be far away, maybe his body is heavy. Plus, when it reached the place of Jesus, it turns out the house was packed and people were not willing to give way. However, once again the faith that they embodied the unyielding effort. They opened the roof of the house, with the risk of the owner of the house angry. Great faith in Jesus enabled them to overcome all obstacles. When the paralytic lowered, Jesus saw their faith who want to try it and give healing. Faith became a reality because of the grace of God in Christ, not because of their own abilities.
If we are facing a task or the challenges of life that takes faith and hard struggle, remember this story. Strengthen the faith to see the greatness that God could help strengthen us to fight with unyielding. Leave our powerlessness to address the right, which is Jesus who is able to make our faith a reality - SST
