When in a desperate situation, it is normal to feel fear. Such conditions often make us only think about ourselves. We not only become afraid of various difficulties that occur, but also afraid to rise up and build hope. Because in such conditions, we often only see our own situation and ignore various things outside ourselves.

In a situation of despair due to rejection, God invites the people of Israel to rise up from their situation. Even more than that, God also invites them to shine. This shows that God does not only want them to not give up in living their lives, but also to build a new spirit of life by building hope. In that spirit, God also invites them to build hope in the lives of others to help and strengthen each other by being a light. This invitation is certainly not without basis, for God has come and given His light to them. Through His light, God accompanies their lives and enables them to live.

God invites us to live with hope and faith; and to direct our lives not only for ourselves, but also for our fellow human beings. Because God Himself has given us hope that strengthens and enables us in His light.
