Bacaan tahunan: Revelation 9-12
An old painter showed off his masterpiece. A painting of a child's face, titled "Self Portrait". Unfortunately, a flood suddenly came and flooded the painting studio. Many paintings were damaged, including the "Self Portrait". The painting was torn and covered in mud stains. Many people said, "Just throw it away, Sir." Instead of throwing it away, the painter chose to fix his masterpiece. He patiently patched every tear and repainted the missing parts. The process was long and tiring. After months, the painting "Self Portrait" returned to its original state! "This painting is more beautiful than before!" praised the people. The painter said, "Now this painting is not just a piece of art, but a story of restoration. Its damage tells of the great love of its painter."
I reflect that we are like the "Self Portrait" in that story. God created us in His own image (Gen. 1:27), but sin, life's wounds, and bitter experiences have damaged all those beautiful images. However, God does not throw us away. He does not give up on restoring our damaged self-portrait.
Romans 8:28 asserts that in all things, including failures, emotional wounds, and even sins we regret, the Lord works to bring good for us. The process is not always quick and easy. Like the patient painter restoring his masterpiece, God also works, even to the point of surrendering His life to restore our self-portrait. This is the story of an amazing restoration.

THE RESTORATION THAT THE LORD DOES IS NOT JUST ABOUT BEING FIXED, BUT BEING REMADE TO BE LIKE CHRIST
