Millions of people around the world suffer from clinical depression. If you or a loved one is struggling with depression, it is important for you to know that God cares about the pain that depression causes and that he brings hope.

It is common for people with depression to feel that God's promises of hope are for others but not for them. They may feel left out of life by God, but his promises are true for everyone who has received Jesus.

Today's scripture tells us that we have everything we need to live a life that pleases God. The Greek word used here does not mean just staying alive as a biological creature, but rather a fulfilled spiritual life that changes our thoughts and actions in the direction of contentment and godliness. This includes a life filled with faith. This includes a life brimming with hope.

Consider this ...


God has provided everything we need to live a life that pleases him, to grow in contentment and godliness. You might not feel the truth of that promise-but God's promises are true, no matter what we feel. Ask him to help you step beyond your feelings and believe that his promises are true ... for you.
