Baca: Ruth 1:1-5

May the LORD repay you for what you have done. May you be richly rewarded by the LORD, the God of Israel, under whose wings you have come to take refuge. (Ruth 2:12)

Bacaan tahunan: Revelation 20-22

The tragedy of the devastating earthquake in China in May 2008 had a lot of touching stories. One is the story of a mother who died in the position of her baby who had survived and was saved. In the hands of the mother clutched a cell phone message that said, "Son, if you survive, please remember that your mother always loved you."

The Book of Ruth tells Naomi about history, women who sought refuge in the midst of the storms of life exposure. With her husband and two children, he fled to the land of Moab for refuge from the famine. However, instead of protection, she has deep distress and bitterness. One by one, her husband and two children died. She became the figure of hazard-prone weak women: widows, strangers, and without descent. No future. Bleak old age. Where else would she seek for protection? The next story shows how to apply God's protection over it. Protection that shaded wings like a mother bird who "hugged" her children. Through in-law Ruth faithful that God gives, who eventually married Boaz, Naomi cuddled grandson. Who would have thought?

Crisis and the hardships of life can indeed put us in a dangerous position. We feel lost, one by one what we think will ensure the present and our future. But, in fact, God is our true Protector. Although the others went, God remains faithful guard. Despite the danger threatens, in the arms of His love we are still protected. Rest assured! - PAD
