Baca: 2 CORINTHIANS 11:7-33
Bacaan tahunan: Genesis 46-47
Until today, I have heard many testimonies shared by those who have experienced love, help, power, strength, blessings, and even comfort coming from the Lord. However, I observe that the type of testimony that feels the deepest, even stirs up spirit, faith, and hope, is not the testimony about material blessings, but stories of heart perseverance, struggles against sickness, resilience in facing difficult times, or strength when experiencing grief.
A series of stories containing struggles, challenges, and even the struggles as an evangelist shared by Paul is a valid proof of God's intervention in the life of the apostle who was once called Saul. Without God's intervention, Paul would not have been able to endure, hope, remain faithful, and persevere in preaching the Gospel. In just one verse (v. 23), we can understand how significant God's intervention is in supporting Paul's life to fulfill his calling as an apostle of Christ.
True testimony is how the life of a believer experiences God's intervention in a real way, then others can see, realize, and even acknowledge the supernatural events in the life of believers. God's ability to bless His people materially can indeed invite admiration, but we should not overlook other types of experiences, which often "speak louder" and make those outside of Christ interested in knowing Him. --GHJ/www.renunganharian.net
