Baca: EPHESIANS 5:1-20
Bacaan tahunan: Romans 11-13
Once I attended a dinner hosted by an elderly doctor who still maintained good fitness. He was seen enjoying dishes that are usually avoided by the elderly, while sharing his daily routine as a doctor. He still regularly practiced at three hospitals and managed to read books routinely. "His life is so productive, it can even inspire many people to live a healthy life!" I murmured as I listened to his life experiences.
Keeping life productive is not only for the elderly or those entering retirement in work. We who are younger also need to live a productive life because God has given us valuable time every day. Unfortunately, lately we see many people wasting time on futile things, such as playing games or excessive use of social media. The wasted time would be more beneficial if used for other activities, such as self-development, honing skills, or personal fellowship in prayer and reading the Bible.
Based on our reflection passage, the encouragement for God's people to learn to use time wisely still needs to be considered. The goal is so that every day we can live a productive life, not just spend time looking busy, but actually our lives are in vain. Let's ignite the spirit to live productively every day.
