Baca: ISAIAH 42:5-9
Bacaan tahunan: Numbers 5-6
There was a retired teacher who in his old age actively guided the teenagers in his village. He was helping a teenager who was trapped in bad company. Faithfully, he provided guidance through his honest and patient life example. Gradually, the child realized his mistakes and changed. "Teacher gave me eyes to see the right way," said the child. Without many words, the teacher's exemplary life had opened the eyes of the child who had been "blind" all this time.
Prophet Isaiah prophesied about the Servant of the Lord, who would come to be a light for the nations and to open the eyes of the blind; not only physical blindness, but also spiritual blindness (the inability to see the truth of God). This prophecy was fulfilled in the person of Jesus Christ. His exemplary life during His time on earth and His faithfulness to death on the cross, had opened the eyes of people who had been blinded by sin to see the light of truth and salvation from God.
We live in a world crowded with moral decay, many people experience spiritual blindness. They do not know the way, do not recognize the truth, and walk in destruction. And as people who have been enlightened by Christ, we are called to be the light that opens the eyes of the blind hearts to the truth. Not only through words, but also through tangible actions: integrity, compassion, and love. Our exemplary life is the "eyes" for those who have not seen the light of Christ yet. --SYS/www.renunganharian.net
A LIFE THAT REFLECTS CHRIST IS THE LIGHT THAT OPENS THE EYES OF THOSE WHO ARE STILL BLIND TO THE TRUTH.
