Yehu has done well in the eyes of the Lord, and has dealt with the family of Ahab just as the Lord desired, only Yehu did not turn away from the sins of Jeroboam son of Nebat, namely the worship of the golden calves in Bethel and Dan, which caused the Israelites to sin as well. There are people who repent from the sins they have been committing, only there are certain sins that they continue to commit and do not turn away from.

Once we were slaves to sin, but now we have wholeheartedly obeyed the teaching passed on to us, we have been set free from sin and have become slaves of righteousness (Romans 6:17-18). The writer of the book of Hebrews advises us that we have so many witnesses surrounding us like a cloud, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles us, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us (Hebrews 12:1). Are there still certain favorite sins that we hold on to and continue to commit until now, and we do not turn away from them? Let us repent completely from all burdens and sins, let there be no sin left behind and maintained, no matter how small.
