Baca: JOHN 12:20-36
Bacaan tahunan: Joel
After the moment of grief passed, Johan remembered the departure of his beloved wife, and how he struggled in prayer. "Every day I begged for a miracle for my wife's healing. Until the last moment I asked, but God had a different plan." He honestly admitted that he was disappointed after finding out that his wife had to leave him forever, but a small voice in his heart said, "I have done the greatest miracle by freeing your wife from bodily suffering in this world." Johan soon realized that God was speaking in his heart, not only to comfort him, but also to give him an answer to his long wait for a miracle. Yes, when talking about miracles, people often interpret it only as experiencing God's help, receiving miraculous healing, or being spared from imminent death in accidents. It is true that God is still able to do all that, as long as He wills it, but God also has the authority to decide what kind of miracle to be revealed in order to bring glory to Himself. Jesus once hoped that the cup of suffering would be taken away from His life. However, Jesus realized that the will of His Father was the best even though He had to endure suffering on the cross. Later, the cross was what glorified God the Father, and also became the means of salvation for humans from their sins. How have you interpreted miracles so far?
