It is human nature to seek protection. In times of difficulty, uncertainty, or when facing threats, people tend to seek a safe refuge. Whether it is physically in a safe place, emotionally through the support of loved ones, psychologically, or spiritually in the Lord.

To the congregation in Rome, Paul emphasized that there is no safer protection than taking refuge in the Lord. For if God is for us, the suffering we endure will never be compared to the glory that will be revealed to us. The Spirit from the Lord will help us in our weaknesses. Jesus, who died but rose again, now sits in the most honored place near God. He intercedes and prays for us. This shows us that the Father is for us. The Son is for us. The Holy Spirit is also for us. We are more than conquerors because of His love for us. Nothing can separate us from His love.

If God is for us, what then should we doubt and fear? Believers are assured of victory, defense, and eternal love from God. No suffering can become a temptation for the faithful. Because suffering cannot cover the love of Christ. Suffering will only strengthen the love of Christ for us. Therefore, there is no need to despair. Let suffering be a means for us to cling closer to the Lord, to depend solely on Him.
