Baca: PHILIPPIANS 2:1-11
Bacaan tahunan: Numbers 35-36
In today's era of social media, many people compete to show off their achievements, intelligence, or lifestyle. The world teaches that the more we stand out, the greater we are considered. However, in the midst of this self-centered culture, Jesus came with a different example-not to seek attention, but to serve quietly. He did not flaunt His power, even though He is the Lord. He chose to humble Himself, even willing to die on the cross.
Humility is one of the most amazing characteristics of Jesus. Although He is the Lord, He did not demand His rights, but instead chose the most humble path - born in a manger, living a simple life, and even dying in the most shameful way. This is not just an external action, but it reflects His loving heart and obedience to the Father. Therefore, the Apostle Paul advised the Philippians who were facing disputes and conflicts to imitate Christ in humility, not asserting their own importance and considering others more important than themselves.
Learning to be humble like Jesus begins with knowing who we are before God: sinners who are loved and saved by His grace. From this awareness comes a heart that does not need to prove itself, but is willing to serve. Let us ask ourselves, am I willing to let go of my pride and learn humility like Christ? Humility is not just an attitude, but a way of life that glorifies God. May the Lord help us to emulate the humility of Christ. --DSK/www.renunganharian.net
