GROW THROUGH FELLOWSHIP

Baca: Colossians 3:5-17

As holy people whom God has chosen and loved, be sympathetic, kind, humble, gentle, and patient. (Colossians 3:12)

After being baptized, Pakhomius seriusingin grow. "Bertapalah. Itucara most powerful," advises a monk. In the year 315 AD, the tradition of asceticism is rife. People separate themselves from a corrupt society. Alone in the desert. Praying and fasting. After trying, Pakhomius felt it was inappropriate. "How could learn humility, if you live alone? How to learn to be patient, without encounter fellow?" He stopped ascetic spirituality and develop fellowship. According to him, people grow in relationships, not solitude.

Paul is shooting a new human traits, among others: compassion, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience (verse 12). This is the fruit of life together. Compassion and mercy appear when viewing the needs of others. Humility is formed when excess meet other people. Gentleness and patience tested when confronted with things that are painful. Colossians consists of a wide range of people who are united in the love of Christ (verse 11). Those "difficult" clear there (verse 13). However, they were asked to stick together (verse 14). Not leave the fellowship. That's where a process of formation. Through conflict, people admonish one another and grow (ayat15-16).

Is there anyone who often annoying you? Or, you are disappointed with the behavior of difficult people in the church? Remember that through them, the properties you are getting geared up and formed the people of God as His chosen. So, hold on!
