GOING THROUGH THE PROCESS

Baca: ISAIAH 64

Bacaan tahunan: Judges 6-7

A potter tells the difficulty of making each pottery. Clay must be selected, cleaned from stones and dirt, then moistened, pressed, rotated, shaped, fired in the fire twice, and then given a glaze layer. A young man asked, "Why does this vessel have to be fired twice?" The potter explained, "If only fired once, its shape is not strong. However, after being fired twice, only then it is durable and useful. This process is what makes it valuable."

From the word of God, we read about the people of Israel who realized their position before the Lord. A confession that they are just clay, and the Lord is the Potter (the vessel maker). A form of dependence and full surrender to the will of God. Clay cannot shape itself. It must be willing to be shaped, processed, and go through sometimes painful processes. However, the result is a unique work of God's hands, valuable, and in accordance with His purpose.

God does not shape our character in an instant, but through time, pressure, and tests of faith. When we surrender, God uses all those experiences to shape us into a stronger personality, and more like Him. Perhaps right now we are in the "furnace of burning" that makes us feel hot, uncomfortable, and want to give up. However, the Potter says that this process will bring eternal results if we endure and continue to trust Him. --SYS/www.renunganharian.net

TO BECOME A PERFECT VESSEL, A PROCESS IS NEEDED THAT WE MUST GO THROUGH WITH PATIENCE AND OBEDIENCE.
