World Day of prayer for children at risk, held each year on the first weekend in June. These global initiatives have been moving people in various places in the world to pray for the children. Why pray for the children in the world? Children amounted to much. Approximately one billion children would be born within ten years into the future, and 90% of them will be living in families who earn less than 8,000 rupiah per day. Children suffer. 56% live in conditions of extreme poverty. Strategic children. The majority of Christians took the decision to follow Christ before the age of 18 years.
In addition to the reasons above, which is very important is the kids loved and regarded essential by the Lord. God angry if anyone prevents children come to him (vv. 13-14). God is pleased with the existence and spiritual children (paragraph 15). The Lord was pleased to welcome, blessing, and loves children (v. 15-16). In his teaching, God condemns people who mislead children (Matt. 18: 6).
Follow the news and read the data about children at risk of suffering can make us feel powerless. However, the supposed helplessness that is precisely made us stepping over to God who loves them. Along with the body of Christ throughout the world, on 2 and 3 June, let us pray for recovery in particular, liberation, and justice for children at risk, so they also experienced a hug and blessing of the Saviour and loving them. -JOO
