Baca: Matthew 9:35-38
When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. (Matthew 9:36)
Bacaan tahunan: Job 1-5
Imagine a magic happens after you read this sentence. In the blink of an eye the Lord Jesus transform you into His eyes and your heart into His heart. Joy, you then try how it feels to see the world from the eyes of God by observing one by one people passing by on the street. What difference do you realize?
Today we read a story about the Lord Jesus who traveled from town to town, teaching and preaching the gospel, heal and recover. One time he was silent. Looking at the crowd, who came to him with eyes full of thirst for the good news and recovery. Matthew described this moment with so emotional. Jesus ... see ... Destroyed his heart and with compassion. The word "compassion" (compassion) means the Lord Jesus feel for the suffering of many and so driven by the desire to lift the suffering. The disciples then heard him saying nervously, "Do not you see, these people have been ready to be reaped, but where workers? Kneel, ask God to send laborers" (verses 37-38).
How long since we first decided to follow Jesus? Since then, the degree to which way you look to others like his worldview? Do you feel the anxiety of his heart? Longing and unrest of his heart, to those who need the Gospel and recovery? Let's update the vision and motivation of our ministry in this new year by making the eyes of God's heart as the eyes of our hearts - ZDK
