FOOLISH IN THE EYES OF THE LORD

Baca: 2 Chronicles 16: 1-14

In this case you have true fool, so from now on it you'll experience battle. (2 Chronicles 16: 9b)

Bacaan tahunan: Isaiah 28-30

The story of King Asa was very attractive to scrutiny. In the previous two articles we read her life history is right before God. Therefore, he was blessed with victory over the enemy as well as security in all parts of the country that he led. However, the article we read today showed the "failure" of Asa. Why can fail? Not before noting that Asa's heart heartfelt sincere before God?
The failure of Asa seems trivial. In fact, in the human eye, it looks like he is smart. He did not bother to face the enemy, so he negotiated with King of Aram to do so. The enemy retreat and Despair have many building materials to strengthen the cities and defences. The ingenious tactics instead? However, the Lord called him "stupid" (verse 9). First, relying on God when facing a Desperate enemy much larger (verse 8). Now, he uses the treasures of the House of the Lord to buy human aid (paragraph 2). When reproved, Desperate heartache. Maybe he feels have been viable for the Lord in the past. Cuisine now Lord bear sentenced him? Instead of turning to God, he repeats the same stupidity when illness struck. He did not seek the Lord's help, but man (verse 12). Pathetic.
Asa life mirrors for us all. Relying on the Lord not to just be the story of the good old days. Let's look forward to him always, even in the most trivial things though. If God was rebuking us because things "stupid" we do, let us not be bitter and steer clear of his aid. There came to him with a heart that was broken, and his formation of mohonlah so that we can return to live pleasing to him. -ATA
