Baca: Proverbs 10: 8-12
Hatred give rise to quarrels, but love covers all offenses. (Proverbs 10: 12)
Bacaan tahunan: 2 Kings 18; 2 Chronicles 29-31; Psalm 48
I often sucks huh? "ask me after the apologize to my best friend, well aware that very often my attitude was not good, perhaps even hurt him. "Love covering a multitude of sins," she shakes her head while quoting a verse, "I now can understand the depth of the new verse," she continued while laughing.
The word I am looking for my best friend brought back and ponder the verses dikutipnya. It turns out both the old testament nor the New contains this advice: Proverbs 10: 12 we read today, and 1 Peter 4: 8. "Cover" here means "forgive", not simply hide errors in order not to be seen. Daily Indonesian Language version of the Bible translated it: "love you forgive all mistakes." Forgiveness in the old testament often described this way. The sin that is covered with the offences were forgiven, and vice versa (compare Psalms 32: 1 with Nehemiah 4: 5).
When hate plagued, mistake others become so obvious. Have you ever experienced it? Often the effort requested third party opinion making that mistake is more obvious, and more great hatred The word of God encourages the opposite. Love that forgives. I myself was raised his sin "covered" the truth of Christ. Not trivial because of sin in the eyes of God, but because of his great love choose to wrap me with his truth than mengeskpos my wretchedness to embarrass him. Though not easy-I pray that God covers my heart with his love, to be able to say as my best friend: "you so cover the multitude of sins." May this be your prayers as well. -ELS
