“But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ,”
Sometimes we only understand a father's love when we are tired, in difficult situations, squeezed, in financial difficulties, when our decisions are wrong, or when life is not as beautiful as planned.
“If you then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!””
A man felt desperate. His business was ruined, and he was burdened with debts. His friend came to his house to comfort him. His friend suggested that he pray. "What's the use? The situation won't change even if I pray. My business is still ruined, and my debts are still there," the man said weakly. "You calm down!" his friend patted his back, "Even though the situation doesn't change, God is still able to declare His power."
“[Psalm 19] For the director of music. A psalm of David. The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands. Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they reveal knowledge.”
We all know the importance of a way. It is a connecting infrastructure that allows us to move from one place to another. The availability of a way enables us to reach our destination. Without a way, we will encounter a dead end. If we do not take the right path, we will get lost. If we do not know the way, we will never reach the destination.
“He says, “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.””
A mountain climber testified shortly after successfully conquering a mountain, "I would never have reached the peak without my friends." He recounted the tough climb, when his legs were tired, almost giving up and his breath was gasping, that was when his friends took turns holding his hand, giving him water, and boosting his spirit to keep going. At the summit, he cried not because of exhaustion, but because he realized that his victory came from the support of his friends.
“Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.”
In this challenging time, it is easy to find people who are lacking enthusiasm or almost desperate. They are like broken reeds and fading wicks. Every day, we can encounter them. Whether it is on campus, at work, in society, or even at home. Instead of helping, we often add to their burden. For example, we throw mocking words, judge, belittle, or pretend to be indifferent.
“[The Narrow and Wide Gates] “Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.”
Have you ever heard the story of King Midas in Greek mythology? King Midas was a wealthy king. One day he helped a god, Dionysius. Because of his act, the god granted the king's request. King Midas asked that everything he touched would turn into gold. His request was granted and everything he touched immediately turned into gold. However, King Midas eventually regretted his wish because accidentally his beloved daughter turned into a gold statue when touched by his hand. His greed for wealth turned out to bring disaster in his life. Agur the son of Jake wrote an important wisdom regarding wealth in human life in Proverbs. He prayed that God would not give him wealth and poverty. The reason he stated is so that he would not deny God in times of plenty or steal and disgrace the name of God in times of scarcity. In other words, he prayed to be given sufficiency in his life and to learn to be grateful for every blessing he received from God. Being grateful and learning to be content with all of God's blessings is something important for every child of God. Isn't it in the Lord's Prayer, Jesus taught, "Give us this day our daily bread" (Matt. 6:11)? Furthermore, we are reminded, "Keep your life free from love of money, and be content with what you have, for He has said, 'I will never leave you nor forsake you'" (Heb. 13:5). Start and learn to be grateful and content with all the blessings that the Lord has given in our lives. --DSK/www.renunganharian.net

A disabled man wanted to participate in a marathon in his city. Some of his friends advised him to cancel his intention considering the difficult terrain of the race. Calmly, the man replied, "Don't worry, in the eyes of others I may look weak, but I want to prove that my weak body does not hinder me from finishing the race." The man did not become the champion, but he crossed the finish line with tears of victory, even though in the last place.
“Before the mountains were born or you brought forth the whole world, from everlasting to everlasting you are God.”
Most people associate happiness with pleasant things: success, health, having many friends, and being free from problems. However, what if what we experience is the opposite? Rejected, insulted, disadvantaged, or feeling unappreciated? Is it possible to still be happy in an unwanted situation?
