Read: JOHN 14:1-14
Bible in a year: Job 40-42
We all know the importance of a way. It is a connecting infrastructure that allows us to move from one place to another. The availability of a way enables us to reach our destination. Without a way, we will encounter a dead end. If we do not take the right path, we will get lost. If we do not know the way, we will never reach the destination.
Generally, a way is a piece of land that is flattened so it can be safely passed. Many roads are paved so they can be traversed by various types of vehicles. There are also paths that consist of a single tree, or a few planks, or bridges made of certain materials. However, have we ever thought that there is a way that is a person?
Many religious leaders urge their followers to follow the path they show. "This is the right path. Walk on this path," they exclaim while explaining a series of rules and complex requirements that must be obeyed. But Jesus is different. He said, "I am the way!" He does not point to a specific direction for us to follow. Instead, He invites us to come to Him. To know Him. To believe in Him. To surrender ourselves completely to Him. He is the way, who guarantees that we will reach His Father and enjoy a life full of joy in eternity with Him. When we believe in Him, He does not give us an address to search for or a map to follow, but He Himself will guide us to eternal life with His Father. --HT/www.renunganharian.net
JESUS CHRIST DOES NOT SHOUT TO SHOW THE WAY TO US, BUT HE HIMSELF IS THE WAY THAT LEADS US TO ETERNITY.
