Read: JOHN 10:1-21
Bible in a year: Job 8-10
I am happy to hear my wife's story about a servant of God who brings some members of the congregation to visit a school every year, and prays for the children studying there. "This pastor is not only friendly, but also remembers the names of the children. He usually greets them by name, a sign that he knows the children," my wife explained. I immediately remembered Jesus' description of a good shepherd, which actually refers to Himself.
One of the main characteristics of a good shepherd is a very good knowledge of his sheep. The word "know" speaks of a knowledge that is very deep, thorough, and tested by time. He knows our entire existence, our past, even the most painful things for us He truly understands. However, it is not enough to stop there, because as His flock, we are also expected to get to know Him more and more as we age as followers of Christ.
In the relationship between God and man, there is no more beautiful condition than the assurance from the word of God that the Creator truly knows us. Accept this truth with all our hearts and faith, then do not let the devil's lies affect our beliefs. This is the promise that Jesus Himself gave, that He knows us just as a shepherd knows his flock. Lift up gratitude to God and ignite the spirit to know Him even deeper! --GHJ/www.renunganharian.net
