Knowing the boundaries of something is very important. Whether it is literal or metaphorical. This can include understanding the limits of our abilities in doing something, both in words and actions, as well as in using our authority or power. Because if we exceed the limits, it will definitely cause problems, and put ourselves in danger.
King Uzziah began his reign by obeying the Lord. His miraculous help (verse 15) made him a great king with a strong army and military equipment. He was not only respected in his own country, but also famous in other countries, and managed to defeat his enemies. However, unfortunately, after all those achievements, he felt so great. He started to exceed his limits. He thought he was so powerful, then he became arrogant before the Lord. He also took over the duties of the priests who were supposed to be from the tribe of Levi, even though he was from the tribe of Judah, a descendant of King David. As a result, he was struck with a skin disease that made him unclean, and he had to live in isolation until the day he died.
In our relationships with others, there are boundaries that we must maintain in order to live peacefully and harmoniously. Everyone has rights and obligations. We should not only focus on our own interests. Likewise in our relationship with God. We must always place ourselves as limited creatures before the Creator who is Almighty. Yes, all our actions should be within the boundaries that show our respect and obedience to Him. --HT/www.renunganharian.net
