Read: JOB 5:1-9
Bible in a year: 2 Chronicles 9-12
Suffering, that's what Job felt after experiencing various sufferings. So deep in his sorrow, to the point where Job couldn't do anything. In terms of faith, he couldn't bring himself to blame God. Even though all his wealth and children were gone, and he experienced various illnesses, and his wife complained about God, he still respected God. However, deep inside, he wanted to scream to vent his feelings so he chose to blame himself by cursing the day he was born. For his attitude, Eliphaz advised him to bring all matters to God, because God can do miraculous things to help His people.
Job's faith was indeed remarkable, but his humanity side is a common thing for anyone who is grieving. In that struggle, Eliphaz's advice shows Job's shortcomings, where he forgot to bring and trust his struggles to God. Job indeed remained steadfast in his faith to God, but in that faith, he chose to bear his struggles alone.
Every struggle, slowly and unconsciously, will imprison our hearts so that we choose to bear all struggles alone. Eliphaz's advice reminds us to continue to open our hearts in every struggle, to direct our hearts to God and entrust our lives to Him. Because God is able to turn the impossible and painful into joy and peace in life. --ZDP/www.renunganharian.net
