STOP BEING THE ROAD

Read: JOHN 14:4-7

Bible in a year: 2 Kings 6-8

The poet Antonio Porchia said, 'Before I travelled my road, I was my road.' Before I embarked on my journey, I was the road itself. Those are not just mere words. They are expressions filled with regret over the pride that has dominated the heart.

There are times when we are so sure of our own thoughts: feeling to know the direction of life, knowing what is right, feeling like the owner of the truth. However, as we travel our path and get thrown around there, we realize that life does not conform to the map we created, that the road we thought we mastered is actually so vast, so deep, so mysterious beyond our imaginations.

God said, 'I am the way.'

God did not say, 'Come, I'll show you your way,' but, 'I am the way.' He is not just a signpost. He is the Way Himself. Therefore, walking in faith is not an effort to uphold our own truth, but to surrender ourselves to be guided by Him, even though His direction is not always clear to us.

Before embarking on the journey, we often feel that we know everything. However, as we travel - when wounds, losses, and silence become our teachers - we learn that wisdom is born of humility, that walking with Christ means surrendering the idea of 'my way' to Him, the Way Himself.

Therefore, our prayer should not be, 'God, show me my way,' but, 'Lead me on Your way.' When we stop being our own road and walk in His loving guidance, that's when we find peace. --EE/www.renunganharian.net

WALKING WITH CHRIST MEANS SURRENDERING THE IDEA OF 'MY WAY' TO HIM, THE WAY HIMSELF.
