Stamps or seals have various meanings, but generally used to ensure the authenticity of an object, show authority, and also as a sign of ownership. Seals are often used on important documents such as letters, agreements, or valuable objects to show that the object comes from a legitimate source and has authority. In ancient times, seals were made of precious stones, metals, wood, or bones. Often these objects were oval or round in shape, and carved with a specific name or symbol, and could even be worn as a ring.
When a bride asks her beloved to place her like a seal on his heart and arm, this request carries deep meaning. She wants to be recognized as the owner of his heart, who will guard and protect her. Declaring commitment and loyalty based on love. She does this not out of compulsion, but willingly surrenders her heart to be fully owned by her beloved. This principle should apply reciprocally to couples who are about to bind themselves in marriage. Thus, they will pledge to be faithful always, and will not open the door for others to enter into their marriage relationship.
God's people should realize this truth. When we make a covenant with our partner, we voluntarily surrender ourselves and our hearts to become our partner's possession. Each party should act as a seal that will guard the honor of their partner, and love and protect them wholeheartedly. --HT/www.renunganharian.net
