DESIRE TO BE RICH

Read: PROVERBS 23:1-8

Bible in a year: Exodus 28-29

Many people are confused about how to continue living with poor economic conditions like today. Many then try to enter the stock market, crypto, or get involved in online loans. They dream of becoming Warren Buffet, a famous stockbroker, and other rich people thanks to exchange rate games or crypto currencies. However, when they start entering the stock market, instead of making a profit, they actually suffer huge losses.

In addition to asking us to abandon the intention of becoming rich, the Bible also provides wise guidance on wealth. It is said that wealth is like wings, it can suddenly fly high and out of reach. Even the Apostle Paul warns the rich not to be proud and not to hope for something uncertain like wealth (1Tim. 6:9). On the contrary, our support should be in God who in His wealth gives us everything to enjoy. In contrast to pursuing wealth, the Book of Hebrews teaches us to be content with what we have. The Lord promises not to forsake us and will never leave us (Heb. 13:5).

Of course, it is not wrong to collect stocks and make a profit. In fact, we also need to study it so as not to get caught in losses. Nevertheless, we cannot hope for or rely on wealth. Because anything in this world can disappear in an instant. Instead, we need to entrust ourselves to the Lord. He is the sustainer of our lives. --HEM/www.renunganharian.net

DO NOT HAVE THE INTENTION TO BE RICH. WE NEED TO LEARN TO LEAN ON GOD WHO SUSTAINS OUR LIVES.
