Bible in a year: Exodus 7-9
Not a few artists write literary works or songs that are based on life experiences. From every series of sentences written, the reader or listener can capture, even feel what the writer experienced. Messages of joy and sorrow written can influence the hearts of the reader or listener.
When we read and reflect on the psalmist's writing today, we are carried away in the painful atmosphere when the psalmist is struggling with such heavy life challenges. In his despair, he asks, "Where does my help come from?" Yes, no one comes to help him. However, in the midst of distress, he said, "My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth." This is a confession of faith! A confession that shows his belief that the Lord is the perfect Creator who not only creates, but also sustains His people (verse 2). The Lord never sleeps, He protects His people from the power of the evil one, He guards believers from all harm (verse 7).
Like the psalmist, in our despair we lament and groan in pain because we do not see the help coming. People come to us not to comfort, but instead to corner us. Facing pressure like this, honestly, even though it is heavy, will our hearts and mouths be able to give thanks and acknowledge the coming of God's help? --SYS/www.renunganharian.net
OUR CONFESSION OF GOD'S HELP SHOULD ARISE FROM A SINCERE HEART AND NOT JUST BE SPOKEN WITHOUT FAITH.
