Read: MATTHEW 1:18-25
Bible in a year: 2 Corinthians 1-4
Joseph faced a big problem because Mary was pregnant even though at that time they were only engaged and not yet married. Joseph was troubled and intended to divorce Mary quietly because he did not want to tarnish Mary's reputation. He thought it was the best way out. However, the word of the Lord came to Joseph in a dream (verse 20), and commanded Joseph not to be afraid to take Mary as his wife. Suddenly Joseph realized that there was God's plan in his life.
Even though at that time he did not know what his future would be, but Joseph followed God's guidance and did not remain silent. Why? Although Joseph could have left Mary, the baby in Mary's womb was not his child. Joseph did not need to be responsible for Mary's life and the baby in her womb. Because Joseph knew the voice of the Lord. There was a connection that was so strong that Joseph could recognize it as the voice of the Lord. Joseph took action, listened to His command and immediately got up, took the child and its mother. After that, he surrendered because he knew that God would guide him.
When God asks us to do something for Him, do we act immediately or just remain silent? Maybe most of us just remain silent. Doubtful about our abilities, feeling unworthy, not knowing what to do, and a series of other reasons as triggers. But, do not be afraid. Learn from Joseph who not only believed, but immediately took action. Remember, God works in our lives. No need to worry about which way to go or be anxious about obstacles in the journey ahead. When God calls, He will also enable us. It's up to our actions, whether we want to follow His call or not.
WHEN GOD CALLS US, LISTEN. WALK WITH THE LORD WHEREVER HE LEADS.
