MEANINGFUL CONVERSATION

Many people can spend hours, even all day, talking about various topics, covering hobbies, political events, celebrity scandals, business, or various events happening around them. Some of these conversations are indeed useful and help others to know something. However, some may not have any impact, other than just wasting time.

With the inspiration of the Spirit of God, the Psalmist invites and challenges us to discuss the wonderful works of God. We can proclaim the greatness of God through songs of praise or psalms. We can witness it through worship activities together in the community of believers. However, we are also challenged to introduce His name to nations who do not know Him. We should make it a topic of conversation with others. We are commanded to boldly testify through words about how God has redeemed, saved, preserved, and blessed us.

Such conversations can certainly lead people to know God more, admire and obey Him. Our conversations are not just empty words that can quickly disappear without a trace, but meaningful conversations that can bless others and strengthen them in following God. Discussing the work of God in our lives should be a lifestyle that we need to practice and maintain. This action not only reminds us of God's work in the past, but is useful for guiding and strengthening us in the present, and becoming a guide that will build our faith for the future.
