Read: 1 PETER 5:1-11
Bible in a year: EZEKIEL 23-24
When someone is given a new responsibility, everyone will respond differently, such as: immediately learn and do it, postpone doing it, be afraid and never do it, and even refuse the responsibility. The Letter of 1 Peter is a letter written by the Apostle Peter to the scattered congregations in Asia Minor at that time. This letter provides advice to church leaders on how they should lead and nurture the congregation well. One of his advice is about worries. In verse 7, Apostle Peter urges them to cast all our anxieties on God. Casting means releasing the burden we carry so that we are no longer burdened by it. Sometimes we are afraid to try new responsibilities. This can hinder us in carrying out the tasks and God's calling in our lives. However, as Christians, we should rely on God in facing that fear. Doesn't God promise in the book of Jeremiah that His plans for our lives are to give us hope and a good future? Let us believe that God always guides us in every step and we are not afraid to do His calling. God is always ready to listen to our prayers and provide wisdom and strength to face all obstacles that hinder us.
