RECEIVING GRACE THANKS

Read: Joshua 2

Bible in a year: Ezekiel 9-12

The title of a prostitute is clearly very painful for a woman. Like Rahab, who may be seen as so lowly and despicable. However, in all her shortcomings, God still declares His grace. Rahab did not yet know the God of Israel, but her faith grew from the amazing news she heard about the God of Israel. Because of her faith, she acted to save the two spies. And because of her faith, she did not perish with those who were disobedient.

God saw Rahab's faith, God completely disregarded her past considered bad. Not only saved from the destruction of Jericho, even God used her as one of the ways to fulfill His coming plan on earth. Rahab's name will never be erased from the Bible as one of the heroes of faith, no matter even though the title "prostitute" still sticks in front of her name.

Our lives are no different from Rahab's. We are sinners and destined to perish. Thanks to God because He does not want anyone to perish. God wants everyone to receive grace to be saved. No matter how bad we live our lives, God still patiently provides that grace. By hearing the word, faith grows. Faith in God urges us to act according to His will and receive the promise of salvation that He has provided. Thus we are forgiven of all sins and saved, not by our own efforts, but because of God's grace. And not only saved, God also dresses our lives so that we are worthy to be used by Him for noble purposes.
