MANAGING YOURSELF

Read: NUMBERS 11:1-23

Bible in a year: Jeremiah 46-48

Everyone certainly has their own problems in life. With these problems, sometimes we complain about the heaviness of the life we have to live, and even compare our lives with others. Unconsciously, we become very preoccupied with these problems. Therefore, we become very sensitive to various things, making us feel like we are walking alone in life.

This was also experienced by Moses when leading the journey of the Israelites. Moses felt the heaviness of the burden he bore because he knew very well God's evident love for the Israelites; but the Israelites refused to see it, even hardening their hearts by crying every night in front of their tent door. Moses himself became very sensitive due to this problem until he vented his anger towards God for feeling like he was walking alone. Moses only saw his own emotions so he couldn't feel the love and support that God gave him. Nevertheless, God increasingly demonstrated His presence to him. He provided a way out for him by asking him to gather the elders of Israel so that they could help him lead the Israelites.

In facing every problem in life, let us not only focus on the problem and drown in it so that we can always open our hearts and realize that we are not walking alone. For God is always with us, and supports us.
