THE CERTAINTY OF ETERNAL LIFE

... The son of God has come and has been granted an understanding to us, that we may know That right; and we are in the right, in his son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life. (1Jn. 5: 20)

What will happen in humans after death? Some people believe that human beings will undergo the reincarnation, or born again into the world. The evil for life, will be reborn in a lower status, it could be as animals. Good, would be reborn in a higher status.
There seems to be some views about life after death in the first century. Therefore, the letters of John repeatedly stressed about eternal life in Christ. It means to live with the Lord in heaven forever and ever (cf. Jn. 14: 3; 1Thes. 4: 13-14). However, how humans could have everlasting life eternal? People are as good as any for sure never do evil, sin, and his wages of death (v. 17; ROM. 6: 23). John explains, that Jesus Christ will protect everyone who believes, so they are considered "no sin" (verse 18). Follower of Christ can have eternal life is not as perfect in doing good, but due to the grace of God. Without Christ, human remains in the condition of sin, which bring death.
This gives us the truth and certainty about the life of refreshing after death. Our eternal future is assured with God for ever. On the day of Vesak, Let's pray for the many people who have not had these wonderful certainty. Please Lord meno-long so that they also know Who's right, and got the gift of eternal life in Jesus Christ. -ELS
