LIFE OF FAITH

Read: Hebrews 11: 30-40

Some are ridiculed and wracked by, even the shackled and imprisoned (Heb. 11: 35)

Bible in a year: Psalm 17, 35, 54, 63

What comes to mind when You hear the word "faith"? For many, it means to trust God to do things that are unusual, as giving the descendants of Abraham which is already aged, splitting of the Red Sea, or tear down the walls of Jericho.
However, the book of Hebrews also noted that "believers" includes trust God when he was working "behind the scenes". For example in the case of Rahab perished not because it was helping the spy, or David who defeated another Kingdom with his army (v. 31-34). The human side of no miracles are striking, but there is definitely the intervention of God in it. Surprisingly, it turns out the "believer" also includes the trust God when he allowed the suffering. There are people called the believers when they were imprisoned, killed, live in lack, and so forth (verses 36-37).
Living our faith is not promising to always experiencing miracles and success. John Piper concludes, "the Lord has a purpose-the purpose of his own that we don't know about. And, faith means that we believe that the purposes God it good .... Faith means to love the Lord more than life, of family, of work, of the pension plan, ... of the dream of building a House, or raise money. Faith said, ' good Lord preserve my life or let me suffer, I still love him. ' " Is he our wages (paragraph 6), which provides our eternal dwellings (paragraph 10), eternal treasures and more valuable than everything (paragraph 26). If this describes your faith? -ELS
